Tribratanews.polri go.id - JAKARTA. Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, led the meetings of Covid-19 handling and controlling with the Forkopimda (Regional Leaders Communication Forum) of West Sumatra on Friday (13/8/2021).
In his instruction, Sigit asked West Sumatra's Forkopimda to strengthen their Covid-19 mitigation strategies on several places such as markets and restaurants to move the economic wheel but push down Coronavirus transmission.
"The mitigation strategy on the sectors subjected to easing policy must be implemented so that people's economy could run, but Covid-19 transmission would not rise again", Sigit said during instruction to West Sumatra's Forkopimda.
The former Chief of Banten Regional Police emphasises that in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia's economy grew by 7.07%. West Sumatra recorded 5.76% growth.
Therefore, Sigit asked that Indonesia's economic growth lately reflects the country's optimism to rise amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Because, according to Sigit, all walks of life must be together in maintaining the health sector so that the public economy could rise.
"This growth momentum must be maintained by using health as the basic capital. If the Covid-19 cases could be pushed down, the economic growth could normally run again", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police said.
The Covid-19 mitigation or control strategies that must be maintained are tightened Health Protocols such as wearing a mask, washing hands, and keeping distance, strengthening 3T (testing, tracing, treatment), and accelerating vaccination effort.
"Tightened Health Protocols, mitigation strategy to the public economic centres, implementation, education, and Justice Operations to ensure obedience towards Health Protocols, and insulation to reduce public mobility", Sigit said.
Sigit added that the strengthening of 3T is to ensure quick response in handling people tested positive for Coronavirus. Besides that, in this strategy, Forkopimda also encouraged to increase Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) and centralised isolation facilities (Isoter).
"The increase of BOR and Isoter facilities must be conducted to anticipate case's significant rise", Sigit said.
Furthermore, Sigit emphasised the Forkopimda to inform and educate self-isolation guidelines to the public to reduce fatality before continuing treatment at the health facilities.
However, Sigit appealed to the people who tested positive for Covid to be treated at Isoter facilities. Considering the facility is better because health workers could observe them.
"However, please prioritise to be isolated at Isoter facilities because (they would be) under the health worker's treatment. Coordinate and plan oxygen supply to maintain oxygen distribution at the Covid-19 referral hospitals across the region", Sigit said.
Meanwhile, in relation to the vaccination programme, Sigit said that all elements in West Sumatra must be in synergy and collaborate to achieve the target of President Joko Widodo on two million vaccinations per day.
"To achieve a two million vaccination per day target from the Mr President, Forkopimda should coordinate with the vaccination activities on the ground conducted together with Armed Forces-Police, Health Agency, Public Health Centre, and volunteers", Sigit said.
Not only that, Sigit addressed the Forkopimda to empty the vaccine stock as soon as possible and recruit the public to increase vaccinators.
