Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta Karo-Karo, accompanied by Primary Officials of East Java Regional Police and Members of the East Java Regional Leaders Communication Forum such as Commander of the 5th/Brawijaya Military Region, Armed Forces General Suharyanto; and East Java Governor, represented by Interim Regional Secretary of East Java, Heru Tjahjono, conduct the information dissemination in approaching the enforcement of Emergency PPKM (Public Activity Limitation Enforcement) at Kedungdoro street, Surabaya, which Indonesian President would announce on July 2, 2021.
During the event, the Chief of Regional asked the street vendors, "I am sorry, sir. You have to close now because Covid-19 cases are now rising".
"I see people are starting to abide by the rules. We hope that this can be repeated all over East Java so that our efforts in controlling the crowd, then the existence of public places that invite crowds can follow the rules", Chief of East Java Regional Police said.
The two-star general also said that Judicial Operations conducted all over East Java saw many people were punished by reprimand, prosecution, and written letters.
Furthermore, East Java Regional Police has opened hundreds of vaccination booths all over East Java and vaccinated thousands of people.
"On average, we have approximately 2,500 activities in East Java. For vaccination, we open 409 booths and have reached the target of 23,000 on 16.00 this afternoon, and now we have passed 50,000 people. We will keep doing this (the vaccination)", Chief of East Java Regional Police said.
The campaign of Emergency PPKM enforcement will keep going on until President Jokowi officially announced it later. This enforcement aims to disseminate information to the public on the oncoming enforcement of Emergency PPKM.
