Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta advised people of East Java to keep complying Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) rules. He emphasized this when reviewing insukation at Waru Roundabout, bordering Surabaya and Sidoarjo.
He believes community awareness and compliance will succeed the implementation of Emergency PPKM, so the spread of Covid-19 could be suppressed.
"We carried out this isolation after an evaluation. Everything was for the sake of saving the community in accordance with the Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs Number 16 Year 2021," Police Inspector General Nico Afinta explained, Wednesday (07/07/21).
Chief of East Java Regional Police said Diirectorate of Traffic Security and Surabaya City Resort Police and backed up by the ranks of Military Area Command (Kodam), Military Region Command (Korem) and Municipality Police (Satpol PP), conducted insulation at the point. All of these efforts will be evaluated, whether the implementation of insulation run effectively.
Police Inspector General Nico Afinta also said there are components involved in the success of Emergency PPKM. The first component is Indonesia National Armed Forces, Indonesia National Police and government. Furthermore, the second is the component of entrepreneurs, consisting of essential, non-essential, critical and non-critical. Then the third is community and the fourth is from health sector.
"These four main components are supported by all components and must work together. The government issues regulations, we implement them, the supporting community, then entrepreneurs in non-essential and non-critical sectors also inform their employees not to go to work, they can arrange to work from home. Please be patient and stay at home," the Two-Star General said.
For those who do not belong to the essential and critical sectors, the goal is to reduce the spread.
"Many have been sick and died. We hope by complying with this rule, the positive numbers will gradually decrease," Chief of East Java Regional Police explained.
