Central Java Regional Police Insulated Boyolali-Solo During Emergency PPKM

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Joint officers from Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police insulated the entrance and exit of Boyolali, especially those from and to Solo. This insulation is conducted to minimize community mobility during Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) period.

"Boyolali is a buffer zone for the Solo area. Then there will be insulation in Bangak area (Banyudono, Boyolali) from and to Boyolali City, the right lane and the left lane, Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police will carry out priority selective insulation," Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police  Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said at a press conference after morning parade of Boyolali Regency Covid-19 joint task force, together with Commander-in-Chief of  Military Area Command IV/Diponegoro Major General Rudianto, at Kidul Square, Boyolali Regency Government Integrated Office Complex, Wednesday (7/7/2021).

Police advised the public not to travel if there was no urgent need. Especially just to hang out or get together with friends.

"For example, cycling, hanging out, gathering, going to a certain place just to have fun,  there is no need to go out," Chief of Central Java Regional Police said.

This insulation activity is part of the implementation of Emergency PPKM, held from July 3 to 20, 2021. The implementation of Emergency PPKM is to minimize community mobility in order to break the chain of Coronavirus spread,  which is currently increasing in various regions.

Besides limiting people’s mobility, the Chief of Central Java Regional Police also mentioned he would take firm action with sanctions against hoarders of drugs and oxygen that are urgently needed at the moment, especially for those suffering from Corona or Covid-19.

"We have done the mapping and we’ll take firm actions to people who take advantage of situations like this,” the Chief of Central Java Regional Police mentioned.

"We have ordered the Directorate of Special Crimes to take some actions. So there will be no hoarding, people are not allowed to take advantage of medical [supply], oxygen et cetera. The current situation is very critical," the Chief of Central Java Regional Police said.

Not only drugs and oxygen, but Luthfi mentioned police would also take firm action against those who spread hoax news. He said hoax news will make people panic and those who spread it will be subject to criminal information technology (IT) violations.
