Celebrating 75th Bhayangkara Day, East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Distributes Basic Foods and Face Masks

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Kupang. East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police distributes 6,409 basic food packages and 34,950 face masks to several regions in the province in celebrating 75th Bhayangkara Day on July 1.

Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Inspector General Lotharia Latif, said thousands of basic food packages and face masks would be distributed to several Departmental Police in East Nusa Tenggara and later donated to communities during Social Service event.

"These thousands of packages of basic foods and face masks are a form of police care, mainly the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, in helping alleviate some of the people's burden during the Covid-19 pandemic," Police Inspector General Lotharia Latif said.

The two-star general adds that there are still many people in East Nusa Tenggara who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, there are rising cases due to the new variant.

Previously, East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police already distributes the same relief package to the people affected by Seroja Tropical Cyclone that claims many lives.

Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said that the target recipients of this social assistance are self-isolating people, poor people, orphanage and orphans, laid-off labour or employees, and Islamic boarding schools.

"The point is, people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic become Police's priority targets", the Armed Forces Graduate of 1988 said.

Police Inspector General Lotharia Latif explained that Police would keep providing protection and service to the public so they can get the benefits.

"Historically, Police are born from the people. Therefore, be Police personnel who benefits the people", the former Chief of Water and Police Corps of Security Guard Agency of Indonesian National Police concludes.
