Break the Chain of Covid-19 Spread, Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police Asks People to Obey Emergency PPKM in Medan City

In stopping the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in Medan City, North Sumatera Regional Police and local government implemented Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restriction). Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General R.Z. Panca Putra Simanjuntak, advised all people of Medan City to obey the rules, Monday (07/12/21).

Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police explained the implementation of Emergency PPKM until July 20, 2021 is an effort to increase public awareness and obedience in suppressing the spread of Covid-19.

"In the implementation of Emergency PPKM, insulation is implemented in border areas of Medan City and in the center of Medan City, which aim to reduce community mobility in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic as the spread continues to increase," Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police explained.

The two-star general also advised all companies in Medan City to obey the rules during Emergency PPKM by working 50 percent from the office and 25 percent working from home. However, for health sector and sector related people’s livelihood, they are allowed to work 100 percent.

"It is advised for the people from outside Medan who have no any urgent issues at this time, do not enter Medan City so the goal of Emergency PPKM can be achieved in breaking the chain of Covid-19 spread,” Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police said.
