Two Police Members Won Gold Medals in National Wrestling Tournament

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Two police officers of West Sumatra made another achievement at the 2022 Open Wrestling Tournament National Championship (Kejurnas) in Padang City, on December 11-15 2022. Brigadier Gouldy Alfaleri and Brigadier Randa Rian Desta won gold medals representing the Province of West Sumatra. Both won gold medals in different classes.

Brigadier Gouldy Alfaleri explained that he won the gold medal in the 86 kg class in the Grego Roman style. Meanwhile, Brigadier Randa is in the 79 kg class in freestyle. He won the gold medal after he defeated a wrestler from South Sumatra in the final. With a score of 8-0, he was able to climb to the first rank on the podium.

Brigadier Gouldy, who is a personnel of the Bukittinggi Police Traffic Unit, has previously won gold medals several times in different wrestling tournaments, starting from Porprov, and Pre PON in Jakarta in 2020.

In 2021, Brigadier Gouldy he was supposed to compete in PON Papua to represent West Sumatra, but could not manage to do it, because he had to take part in police education through the Rekpro Non-Commissioned Officer selection route.

"Thanks to the prayers and support, we were able to win this championship. We dedicate it to West Sumatra and the National Police," he said in his appreciation speech.

He will be prepared for the upcoming 2024 PON in Medan, North Sumatra.

"Please pray for me, and hope for the best," he concluded.
