Tribratanews.polri.go.id- Pekanbaru. Riau Regional Police carried out tight escort for the delivery of 70 tons of oxygen sent from Riau. The oxygen was sent to help treat Covid-19 patients in Jakarta.
Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setia Imam Effendi said his party has deployed two units of escort vehicles and 4 police personnel.
"70 tons of oxygen was transported by 5 trucks, escorted by 2 units of patrol vehicles of Highway Patrol (PJR) of Traffic Directorate of Riau Regional Police with 4 personnel," Chief of Riau Regional Police said, Monday (12/7).
Chief of Riau Regional Police said the plan was to send 500 tons of oxygen to hospital under the auspices of Ministry of Health in Jakarta. Delivery is done in stages.
"The shipment is part of the total 500 tons of oxygen that will be delivered in stages," Chief of Riau Regional Police said.
Meanwhile, head of the oxygen supply company, Mulya Nauli, expressed his appreciation for the police assistance in controlling the oxygen.
"Thank you, Chief of Riau Regional Police, we hope the entire oxygen delivery process can run safely and smoothly," Nauli said.
