In an effort to secure the New Year's Eve, Jayapura Police prepares 250 personnel that have been dispatched to several locations in Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Saturday (12/31).
The security operations began with personnel rally, led by Jayapura Police Chief, AKBP Fredrickus W.A. Maclarimboen. He says that this rally is aimed to secure the security and comfortability of New Year's Eve.
"We have divided our personnel to several points, such as in Pertigaan Pojok, Pertigaan Bandara, Pertigaa Salatiga, Pertigaan Pasar Lama, Pertokoan Multi, to Doyo Baru. Other than four security posts of Lilin Operation," he says.
He says that other than securing that locations, they have prepared Samapta personnel that they directed to patrol around Sentani area to maintain the security situation in the area, and prevent any disturbances.
"Other than securing New Year's Eve, personnel also secured churches to provide comfort to the congregation," he adds.
Jayapura Police Chief appeals the community to not celebrate the Eve's too excessively, or doing things that could harm or distrub the community. He also stressed to not get drunk while celebrating the joyful night.
"We hopes that this new year's eve could gone safe and conducively, and no significant disturbances occured, and hoped that 2023 would be a better year for all of us," he says.
