National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, ordered all police stations spread throughout Indonesia to provide free vaccination services to the public. This is done, in order to maintain the target of giving one million doses of vaccine to the public per day to get communal immunity (herd immunity).
"To maintain and strengthen the target, the National Police Chief has ordered all Regional Police, Pol. Stations to establish a precision vaccine movement that will serve people who have not been vaccinated," explained Chief of Public Information Bureau National Police's PR (Karopenmas) Pol. Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono.
Karopenmas said that the injection of the vaccine could be given to the public without the requirement of domicile. This means, Karopenmas continued, residents who want to vaccinate can go to the nearest police station.
However, Karopenmas regrets that there are still people who are reluctant to carry out vaccinations. Therefore, Chief of Public Information Bureau asks for cooperation between his party and the community so that the vaccination program launched by the government could run optimally.
"The National Police always provides socialization of free vaccines and appeals through the extension of Security and Public Order which is in direct contact with the community," he said.
To note, the police stations that have been able to provide vaccine services are the Tanjung Priok Port Police, Tanjung Priok Port Health Clinic, Tangerang Metro Police, Tangerang CGV Mall, Bekasi Metro Police with nine sector police under them, Tebet Police.
