South Sumatra Regional Police Regulate Night Club Entertainment, 49 Peoples are Positive for Drugs

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Palembang. The South Sumatran Regional Police have brought order to the White Lotus nightclub or known as the new village on Teratai Putih Road, Sukajaya Village, Sukarami District, Palembang, Sunday (07/04/3021).

This activity is carried out with the aim of hunting down narcotics trafficking while enforcing health protocol compliance.

The South Sumatra Regional Police Narcotics Directorate together with the South Sumatra Regional Police's Mobile Brigade, arrested 171 visitors from two nightclubs in locations known as hotbeds of drugs and prostitution. When a urine test was conducted for all visitors, 49 of them tested positive for drug consumption.

"Currently we have secured them at the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarter for processing. 49 people have positive results. From their hands we managed to find 20 ecstasy pills, 1 extacy item, 3/4 ecstasy item and 1/4 ecstasy item," explained the Vice Director of Drug and Crime Investigation Unit of South Sumatra's Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant - Djoko Lestari.

As for the places that are disciplined, the Batman cafe is 53 men and 14 women and the star cafe is 63 men and 41 women. These two places are the one that hadn't been subject to law, frequently leaking during Police raids.

"Even though it is very disturbing to the people in the Sukarame area in particular. We will process it, for visitors whose urine is positive and without evidence, it will be subject to mandatory reporting and a medical assessment will be submitted to the South Sumatra's Provincial National Narcotics Agency," he added.
