Preventing Radicalism, Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror of Indonesian National Police Conduct Investigation at Indonesian Islamic State (NII) Garut

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror of Indonesian National Police began to investigate the presence of dozens of residents suspected of being exposed to the radicalism of the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) in Sukamenteri, Garut, West Java.

The Head of the Operational Assistance Section for Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror of Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Aswin Siregar said that investigators were gathering information to find details related to the case.

"We have monitored this incident and are gathering more detailed information," explained the Head of the Operational Assistance Section for Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror of Indonesian National Police.

"Later, there will be a follow-up based on the facts found," explained the Head of the Operational Assistance Section for Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror of Indonesian National Police, Friday (10/8/2021).

Still about the same thing, the Head of Public Information Bureau, Public Relations Division of Indonesian National Police, Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono confirmed that the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) are currently investigating the alleged exposure to NII radicalism that has afflicted several residents in Garut.

"The Garut Departemental Police, Garut Regional Government, Garut MUI have gone down to the field to investigate the case. Is there a betrayal or just the teachings of certain religious sects at the mosque in the Sukamentri sub-district that teaches some of its students. This is being investigated," explained the Head of Public Information Bureau, Public Relations Division of Indonesian National Police.
