A total of 38,346 fries that were to be smuggled in by two suspects with the initials SA (38) from Banyuwangi and RAP (28) from Jember were successfully thwarted by the East Java Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air at around 08.00 am, in Probolinggo City when they were about to send the fries to Jakarta from the coast. Grand Commissioner Gatot Reply Handoko said that the disclosure of the case began with information from the public to the East Java Regional Police's Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate Team regarding the distribution of fries without a permit.

The evidence seized were 38,346 fried shrimp. In addition, there are 36,070 sand types and 2,276 pearls. The fry was packaged using 8 Styrofoam boxes. Each box contains 25 plastic bags.
East Java Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air - Pol. Grand Commissioner Arnapi said the two perpetrators were couriers. They are still working on this case.
"Against these two actors, we are still doing development again against owners and investors, as well as those who receive. So we will not stop here. We will pursue it," explained East Java Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air.
"Because we all know that for this fry business, there will be groups of perpetrators. We will explain who is involved in this crime," explained the Directorate of Water and Air of East Java Regional Police.

For his actions, the perpetrators imposed Article 92 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph (1) of Law No. 11 of 2020, regarding job creation in conjunction with Law No. 45 of 2009, regarding amendments to Law No. 31 of 2004, concerning fisheries. 55 or 56 of the Criminal Code. With the threat of a criminal sentence of 8 years and a maximum fine of IDR 1.5 billion.
