Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo asked the Indonesian National Police and Indonesian Military to support the purchase of domestic products. Particularly procuring the needs of soldiers or members, ranging from uniforms to weapons.

"I asked the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Police, military (Indonesian Military) uniforms, we can make them, export them to all countries, uh, we buy them from outside. Shoes, weapons, we can produce," said the President at the Inauguration Ceremony Business Matching of Domestic Products in 2023, in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/15/2023).

The President said that the TNI/Polri can import advanced equipment such as fighter planes because Indonesia cannot produce it. However, for weapons and bullets as well as the need for uniforms that can be produced by himself, the President asked to be purchased from within the country.

"We are capable of guns and bullets, let alone just producing shoes. Why do we have to buy from outside," he said.

The President also said he received a story from the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, a retired TNI officer, that food for Indonesian military soldiers from their time until their time now is still with the same provider.

"Soldier food. I got a story, General Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan whispered, 'Mr. President, since I was a soldier until I retired, and now I am a minister, how come the provider of goods (soldiers' food) is still the same? The more providers, the better, because prices are getting more competitive," said the President.
