PPA Unit Polres Buleleng Investigates the Perpetrators of Child Abuse

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Buleleng. The alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse of his daughter, DBP (45), was examined by the Investigator of the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Buleleng Police (Polres Buleleng). DBP was summoned by the police to be inquired as to a witness.

Head of Public Relations (Kasi Humas) of Polres Buleleng, AKP Gede Sumarjaya, Monday (4/4/2022) said that the results of the post-mortem for the victim had been received from the Buleleng General Hospital medical team.

"The results of the post-mortem have been received verbally, not officially. We cannot convey the results because it contains the investigation material," said Kasi Humas Polres Buleleng.

After receiving the results of the post-mortem, the alleged perpetrators have also been summoned by investigators to be questioned as witnesses. The inquiry was done on Monday afternoon.

"The alleged perpetrator has come to be questioned as a witness. However, the results are not yet known, the examination process is still being carried out," said Kasi Humas Polres Buleleng.

Meanwhile, the evidence that has been secured, is the clothes used by the victim when the alleged sexual intercourse occurred, while the number of witnesses who have been questioned amounted to four people.

If the results of the post-mortem have been officially received, and the alleged perpetrator has been questioned, the investigators aimed to conduct an open case this week.

"The open case conference may be held this week. From there, it will be determined what, when, and where it happened, and who should be responsible for the act," he explained.

Meanwhile, the victim is currently kept in an institution, with the protection of P2TP2A. Considering that Buleleng does not yet have a safe house.

Kasi Humas Polres Buleleng said that a safe house was indeed a necessary facility. Because, in the safe house, there are psychologists who can accompany the victim to recover their psyche.

"So far, if there are cases like this, victims are often being taken care of by the foundations that have collaborated with us, P2TP2A, and other child observers," he concluded.
