Polri Stressed A Firm Action Upon The Abuser of Fuel

tribratanews.polri.go.id - Regarding the cases of alleged abuse of fuel oil (BBM), the Indonesian National Police (Polri) announced they are now conducting an investigation. Head of the Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas), Inspector General Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Sc., M.M., stated that based on the April 6, 2022 data, there are at least six Regional Police (Polda) who have conducted investigations related to the case.

"The six Polda who are investigating the case are West Sumatra, Jambi, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Bali, and Gorontalo," said Kadiv Humas Polri, Friday (8/4).

Kadiv Humas Polri stated that the West Sumatra Police reported there is one case that was being investigated. It is said that the perpetrators bought the fuel and resell it at a higher price.

Meanwhile, the Jambi Police are handling eight reports of fuel abuse, with the South Kalimantan Police receiving seven reports of the related case.

Then, the East Kalimantan Police, Bali Police, and Gorontalo Police had one report related to the fuel case. He explained that all alleged suspects do the reselling method at higher prices.

"In our investigation, the Police will implement Article 40 point 9 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, Amendments to Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas. With maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion, " he said firmly.

Regarding the investigation of this case, Kadiv Humas Polri stressed that the Police would not hesitate and will take firm action indiscriminately against anyone who violates the law and abuses fuel selling.

According to him, this decisive action of the police is to mitigate or prevent fuel shortages in the community.

"To maintain the availability of fuel and mitigate any abuse that could cause the shortage of fuel in the community, Polri will take firm action against anyone who is proven to have committed violations related to the misuse of the fuel," he concluded.
