Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has confirmed that some of its members who are registered as voters have been verified with the General Elections Commission (KPU). However, to ensure accuracy, INP will also conduct an internal verification process.

“INP has coordinated with the KPU to obtain the names of INP members who are registered to vote, and we will re-verify these names,” said the Head of Public Information Bureau of INP Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in a press conference on Monday (3/4/23).

He emphasized that these names appear in the voter list because their job status data in their ID cards (KTP) has not been updated. Therefore, it is possible that these names belong to retired INP members.

“INP will re-verify whether these names belong to INP members who have already retired. If so, since they are already retired, they are entitled to vote in the upcoming election,” he explained.

The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) has released a report revealing that 20.655 Indonesian Military-INP personnel, consisting of 11,457 Indonesian Military personnel and 9.198 INP personnel from DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, and Maluku, have been registered to vote.
