Tribratanews.polri.go.id - In securing the G-20 Summit in Indonesia, the National Police will deploy 5,746 personnel. This amount will adjust to the conditions in the field.
"We have prepared around 1,600 personnel as reserve. And the National Police has prepared special vehicles such as ships, helicopters, and escort cars," explained the Assistant Ops of the National Police Chief, Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, in his statement, Tuesday (27/9/2022).
He explained that later the Police would carry out centralized security operations. This means that police operations are carried out starting from the National Police level to the regional level at Bali and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) which will be carried out for 10 days, from November 7 to November 17.
Even so, the Two Star General also ensured that the Police would continue to cooperate with the Indonesian Army, Presidential Guard, National Board for Disaster Management, Search and Rescue Unit, and other related stakeholders. The security and escort are carried out to ensure the safety arrival of the president or other delegations from the airport, routes to hotel and its areas, as well as the location of the G-20 Summit taking place by referring to international security protocols and procedures.
"We are mapping the points that will be the focus of our security, which divided into 5 areas: Seminyak, Jimbaran, Sanur, North Nusa Dua, and South Nusa Dua. Priority is given because all the activities of the delegation and the president will take place there," he said.
On the other hand, the Police will also prepare a road security engineering strategy for 10 road areas. In fact, 4,600 connected CCTVs have been prepared plus 1,500 worn bodies (bodycams) camera has been given for all officers in the field.
"We have prepared the equipment we need starting from door checks, X-Ray, vehicles, then special vehicles for special handling, as well as ships and helicopters, as well as escort vehicles," he added.
