The Head of the Regional Police of North Sulawesi (Kapolda Sulut), Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. Mulyatno, S.H., M.M., received an award from the Association of Indonesian Journalists (PWI) of North Sulawesi, which considered Kapolda as a prominent figure for the press in North Sulawesi, Friday (18/2/2022).
The award was given directly by the Chairperson of the PWI of North Sulawesi, Voucke Lontaan, accompanied by a number of his administrators, in the office of Kapolda, in a series of activities for National Press Day and PWI's 76th Birthday in North Sulawesi.
Aside from Kapolda, PWI also awarded three Intermediate officers of the Polda Sulut who also received a similar award, namely the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Polda Sulut, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, S.I.K., AKBP Bambang Ashari Gatot, S.IK., M.H., and AKBP Denny Situmorang, S.I.K.,
The North Sulawesi Police Chief expressed his gratitude and appreciated the award given by the North Sulawesi Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI).
"Thank you for giving me this award, which of course this award is for the entire unit of Polda Sulut," stated the Two-Star General.
Voucke Lontaan explained that he is very selective in giving awards like this, “There is a special team tasked with assessing the performance of someone who is proposed to be related to journalistic activities, then there is PWI North Sulawesi daily management plenary session. We are giving this award without collecting fees from the award recipients,'' said the Chairman of the PWI North Sulawesi.
According to Voucke Lontaan, the Kapolda Sulutu, along with three Intermediate officers of the Polda Sulut who received the award, were considered to understand the concept of press freedom and were always open to journalists' duties.
