Joint forces of the North Sumatran Police (Polda Sumut) Drug Investigation Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) and the Mandailing Natal (Madina) Police (Polres Madina) successfully discover a 2-hectare marijuana field in the Tor Mangompang Mountains, East Panyabungan District, Madina. To find the field, officers had to walk for five hours.

The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Polda Sumut Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi confirmed the discovery of the marijuana field. The discovery of the marijuana field began with the arrest of a suspect with the initials S with evidence of a sack of marijuana.

"When interrogated, suspect S admitted that the marijuana came from his field in the Tor Mangompang Mountains. That is all the information that we have gathered, for now, investigators are still investigating it," stated Kabid Humas, Saturday (19/2/2022).

After receiving this information, on Wednesday (16/2) officers scoured the Tor Mangompang Mountains with a distance of 6 hours: one by car and five hours by foot.

"When we arrived at the location, the personnel found a cannabis field ready to be harvested covering an area of 2 hectares with a total of 10 thousand marijuana trees," said the former Head of Police for Biak Numfor, Papua.

After the discovery, Kabid Humas added that on Friday (17/2) at around 06.00 WIB the marijuana field was destroyed by a joint team of the North Sumatra Police, TNI, BNNK, and Madina Police.

"The extermination was carried out as a form of joint commitment in eradicating drug trafficking in North Sumatra," concluded Kabid Humas.
