Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jayapura. Head of the National Police Commission Benny Jozua Mamoto and his delegation paid a working visit to Timika in Papua to get briefings on the ongoing rescue operation for Susi Air pilot Phillip M. Mehrtens, who was taken hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).
The Cartenz Peace Operation Task briefed the delegation the latest information on the search of the pilot. It also explains the security condition and the measures taken to maintain law and order in the region.
“The National Police Commission conveyed their trust and support to the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Task Force Police Senior Superintendent Dony Charles Go.
The delegation was also scheduled to receive a briefing on the security situation at PT Freeport Indonesia, a mining company in the region that was recently affected by a mud flood. The briefing by the Amole Operation Task Force was scheduled to inform the delegation about security measures to mitigate the risks associated with the disaster.
“During the visit, the situation was conducive and under control,” the spokesperson said.
