Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo accompanied by the INP Headquarters officials conducted an aerial monitoring of the Eid return flow, also known as “arus balik”, using a helicopter from Kalikangkung-Cikampek Toll Gate, Inner Ring Road, to the arterial route, on Tuesday (25/4/2023).

During the monitoring, the Chief of the INP National Police Chief paid special attention to traffic flow on roads that had implemented engineering policies, including the one from Kalikangkung to Cikampek.

After the monitoring, he held a coordination meeting with his staff and other relevant parties at the integrated post located at Cikampek Utama Toll Road KM 70 to ensure that the return flow runs safely, smoothly, and comfortably.

“As said by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (PMK), the 2023 homecoming is the highest flow since 2019, so the return flow will also be the highest flow during the year. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps and efforts to carry out traffic engineering,” he said.

He explained that the traffic engineering strategy will be implemented to prevent the stagnation of traffic and reduce the volume of vehicles on the road. In particular, during the peak of the return flow on April 24-25, 2023.

“We will implement this measure to ease and distribute the traffic load during the peak of the return flow to prevent a bottleneck. The existing road volume exceeds its capacity, both on toll roads and arteries,” he said.

To ease the potential traffic congestion during the return flow, a one-way system will be implemented from Kalikangkung Toll Gate on KM 414 to Cikampek Utama Toll Road (Cikatama) on KM 70.

However, the one-way policy may be extended based on police discretion, by the prevailing conditions on the ground.

In his concluding statement, he urged the public to adhere to the regulations and instructions given by the officers on the ground.

“Compliance with the rules given by officers on the ground will greatly contribute to the traffic smoothness and safety of the travelers,” he concluded.
