Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Cikampek. The Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the rest area in Cikampek Toll KM 62 to listen directly to the aspirations and concerns of travelers regarding their experiences during this year’s mudik journey and return journey.
During his visit, he had the opportunity to speak with various travelers, including one from Surabaya who shared their positive experience of this year’s mudik journey compared to previous years.
To ensure the best service for the public during the return journey, he has instructed his staff to remain alert and prepared for the possibility of a shift in the peak of the return flow distribution until Sunday (30/4/23) and emphasized the need for heightened security measures on both toll roads and arterial roads.
With initial predictions indicating 203.000 vehicles passing through during the peak of the return flow, the INP has prepared various strategies, including toll discounts and traffic engineering, to alleviate congestion.
In addition. He added that the government has taken steps to avoid the peak of the return flow by offering additional leave to Indonesian Military, INP, State-Owned Enterprises workers, and civil servants. He also mentioned that the Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs has rescheduled the halal bi-halal event to next week.
The former Chief of the Banten Regional Police also explained that based on his investigation, the peak of the return journey was expected to occur today but there has been a change with a 13% decrease in the number of vehicles from the initial prediction.
“We will wait and see if the 13% decrease remains. If it does, we can lower the peak prediction to 203,000 because it can decrease by 13%,” he said.
