Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) cautioned that polarization in the 2024 Elections might occur. Speaking during a working meeting with the House of Representatives Commission III at the Parliament Complex on Wednesday (12/3/23), he revealed that the police have taken several measures to mitigate any potential risks and vulnerabilities.
“Polarization can reoccur amid society due to identity politics,” said the chief.
Among the mitigations are strengthening the role and function of the Public Security and Order Supervising Officer (Bhabinkamtibmas) in detecting any problems in the community early on and strengthening efforts to encourage the public to maintain national unity.
To ensure operational readiness, Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel have been strategically divided into seven zones across Indonesia, each with specific needs that personnel is trained to meet.
“The Brimob forces are divided into seven zones throughout Indonesia, which are adjusted to the needs. This strategic approach ensures that the forces will provide unwavering support to each other to secure the upcoming elections,” he said.
