Metro Jaya Police Chief (Kapolda Metro Jaya) Inspector General Fadil Imran hopes that the booster vaccine can protect people from the Coronavirus, especially when welcoming the holy month of Ramadhan. "We want people to be able to carry out Ramadhan as normally and solemnly as possible, and also we want economic activities to be able to run normally," he explained.
Inspector General Fadil Imran said that the community activities have increased ahead of Ramadan. Not only in public places and markets but activities at places of worship are also expected to increase during Ramadan as Tarawih prayers are now allowed in mosques.
Therefore, the community needs to get a booster vaccine to stay fit, especially when carrying out worship during the holy month of Ramadhan. Polda Metro Jaya provides free booster vaccine facilities to the community to pursue herd immunity in the community.
"The month of Ramadan, which is marked by an increase of activities of worship, needs an excellent and fit community, so they can worship solemnly. Plus, people have a tradition of sharing a lot of gifts with others. For that reason we conduct vaccination as a way to protect the community from illness and being unable to carry out economic activities, for example," explained the Kapolda.
The Kapolda appealed to the public to visit vaccination outlets to get a booster. According to the direction of the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Polda Metro Jaya has consistently accelerated vaccination since 2021, and the first and second doses in DKI Jakarta are already above 100% and at least 70% for buffer zones (agglomeration).
