Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed not to interfere in the affairs of each other's countries, including the issue of Taiwan.

China-Indonesia has also formulated an Action Plan to Strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2022-2026) so as to provide an integrated plan and roadmap for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in all fields in the next five years, as reported by CNNIndonesia.com

This is stated in the points of a joint statement between Xi Jinping and Jokowi. The statement also emphasized Indonesia's firm adherence to the one-China policy and its support for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations (Taiwan) and China's peaceful reunification.

"Indonesia reaffirms its unwavering adherence to the one China policy, its continued support for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations (Taiwan) and China's peaceful reunification, and issues concerning core interests such as national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity," said the statement.

Chinese reunification or better known as Cross-Straits unification refers to the potential reunification of China (People's Republic of China) with the territory of Taiwan. So far, China has considered Taiwan as its sovereign territory, which has rebelled because it wants to become independent.

The principle also recognizes the territories of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan as part of the Chinese government. Meanwhile, so far, Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Jakarta and Taipei only have limited economic and trade relations.

Apart from the Taiwan issue, Jokowi and Xi Jinping also discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries and mutually supporting each other's national development.

"That is, China achieved its second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country that is great in all aspects, and Indonesia will become a developed country on the centenary of Indonesia's founding in 2045," said a joint statement released by the Xinhua news agency.
