Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. In the latest Transparency International NGO report, Indonesia’s Corruption Perception Index showed a decrease in 2022. According to the data, Indonesia’s CPI fell 4 points to 34 from 38 and ranked 110th out of 180 countries surveyed.

There are three sources of data that resulted in the country’s decline, namely the corruption in the political system, bribery in exports-imports, and questionable relationships between politicians and businesspersons.

Despite this, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo expressed his confidence that the recent decline will not deter potential investors from investing in the nation.

The President’s statement was made in a press conference held at the Presidential Palace along with the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Firli Bahuri, and Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Tuesday (7/2/23).

He acknowledged that the CPI is a crucial input for the government officials and law enforcement to improve their efforts in eradicating corruption.

“I remind all the government officials to improve the administrative and public service system that prioritizes transparency and accountability,” he said.
