Semeru Erupted 22 More Times, Volcano Blew Hot Ashes to 400 Meters High

Semeru have erupted again on Tuesday (12/6) at 05:02 WIB morning. The eruption spewwed the hot ashes to 400 meters high.

Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation officials, Mukdas Sofian explained that there are 22 eruptions with the amplitude of 10-23 mm and an earthquake lasting 60-155 seconds. There were 5 avalanches with an amplitude of 3-12 mm and an earthquake duration of 45-115 seconds.

“People are asked to be aware of hot clouds and lavas along the rivers from Semeru, particularly along the Besuk Kobokan, Besuk Bang, Besuk Kembar, and Besuk Sat as well as the potential for lava in rivers,” he said.
