Fifty Thousand Personnels of Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police Guard Emergency PPKM

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia National Police is ready to oversee the enforcement of Emergency PPKM (Community Restriction Activity). There are fifty thousand joint personnels of Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police deployed.

"There are more than 21,000 (police personnels), more than 32,000 Indonesia National Armed Forces personnels have, this later (the number of joint personnels) is 50,000,” Assistant Operations of Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto said the in a virtual press conference, Friday (07/02/2021).

The emergency PPKM enforcement operation was named Aman Nusa II Operation. The operation will start tomorrow, just as the emergency PPKM policy implemented.

"It is expected to be effective and our activities are on target. Hopefully it will be massive with the targets that have been prioritised," Assistant Operations of Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto explained.

This operation consists of 7 task forces whose function is to enforce emergency PPKM regulations. However, Imam said the task forces that will play an important role are task force 2 (community building) and task force 3 (discipline).

"We are strengthening from the community police officers and sectos police, we involve [them] in Nusa Aman II Operation. One of their duties is to enforce the regulations that have been set out in emergency PPKM," Assistant Operations of Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto said.

The emergency PPKM policy will take effect June 3 to 20. Some of the rules are work from home 100 percent for the non-essential sector, malls are prohibited from operating except supermarkets and restaurants but only for take-away.
