Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police Launches Show of Force Patrol to Optimise Emergency PPKM

Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo, accompanied by Primary Officials of Deputy East Java Regional Police, leads the send-off ceremony of the Show of Force Patrol during the Emergency PPKM (Public Activity Restriction Enforcement) in East Java on Saturday (03/07/2021).

Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police said that, according to the Home Affairs Minister's Instruction No. 15 of 2021 about Emergency PPKM, the government regulates and mandates Armed Forces and Police activity to assist regional governments, either province or regency/city. As a response, East Java Regional Police conducted joint patrol consists of Armed Forces, Police, and Regional Government to oversee whether the implementation of Emergency PPKM in the communities is being obeyed in the form of Show of Force Patrol During Emergency PPKM in East Java.

The joint patrol division is divided into five teams; each consisted of 100 people from Armed Forces, Police, Regional Transport Agency, and Municipal Police.

"There are area divisions as well, such as in Greater Surabaya or beyond them. We hope that this Emergency PPKM could be well conducted. The departing team will campaign, appeal, and even reprimand the public", Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police said.

Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police reminds the public and personnel on duty to keep adhering to Health Protocols.

"If the officer discovers any person without a face mask, they should appeal the person to wear it, since it becomes obligatory. People who are dining in will be appealed not to do so to avoid crowds. We are doing these patrols to improve public activity restrictions on restriction locations. This Emergency PPKM would be conducted in synergy by Three Pillars: Armed Forces, Police, and Regional Government. Therefore, I appeal to all personnel on duty to keep adhering to Health Protocols", Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police concluded.
