Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, issued a telegram letter numbered STR/577/VII/OPS.2./2021 regarding the Extension of Aman Nusa 2 Operation of Covid-19 Handling as a follow up of Emergency PPKM (Public Activity Restriction Enforcement) implementation at Java and Bali island, which takes effect from July 3 to 20, 2021.

Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police and also Chief of the Central Operation of Aman Nusa 2 Extension Operation, Police Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto, said that the Aman Nusa 2 Extension Operation would prioritise Covid-19 prevention measures.

"The primary measure is the preventive action to decrease new positive cases, started from public activity restriction, education, campaign, and discipline in adhering to Health Protocols. We hope people will obey the measures we are imposing to avoid the further increase on Covid-19 cases", Police Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto said on Saturday (03/07/21).

Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police added that Emergency PPKM policies must be understood by all parties, considering that Police personnel, assisted by Armed Forces and regional government elements, have insulated 407 locations all over Java-Bali during Emergency PPKM implementation to restrict public mobility.

"This activity aims to protect people from Covid-19, and it is the measure on push back and reduces virus transmission. So when regulation is being violated, Police would remind and enforce the law objectively and humanely. People must understand and obey the regulations because this is for our common interest", Police Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto said.

Based on observation conducted on the area under the jurisdiction of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, the Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police said that there are still violations in terms of public mobility on markets and street vendors. Road traffic was deemed too crowded.

But, if observed further, mobility consists of sectors included as essential categories related to food and clothing necessities. Meanwhile, for the road traffic observation, public transport volume is decreased, but online motor-taxis are still in operation to fulfil people's needs.

"However, personnel must conduct a proper appeal and education to minimise friction between personnel and the general public. That is what I hope. And I also appeal personnel to prioritise Health Protocol to prevent Covid-19 exposure when on duty", the three-star general concludes.
