Joint security forces of the National Police and the TNI guarded the construction works of the Trans Papua road that connects Kenyam City - Krepkuri District, Border Batu, Friday (12/9).
The access that connects the Batas Batu port to the city of Kenyam has been badly damaged. The damage is believed to be due to the recent intensive heavy rains.
Responding to this, the local government of Nduga took an immediate actions and ordered the road to be repaired, because the road has a signification impact on the economy of Kenyam city. The Nduga local government, in cooperation with the Police and the TNI in Nduga district, is going to provide security for the road repairs.
The Company Commander of the Preventive Task Force, IPTU Suryadi Saul, said that the Preventive Task Force of Cartenz Peace Ops provided security for road repairs and would work together with the TNI from Yonif Raider 514/SY who is currently carrying out their duties in Nduga regency.
"We will work together with the TNI and related agencies in providing security, with the hope that the damaged roads can be used again by the community, considering that this road is the main access for the entry of the community's basic needs in Kenyam City," said Iptu Suryadi.
In a different location, Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Ops, AKBP Arif Irawan, revealed that this activity was a form of quick response and synergy between the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum in Nduga Regency in responding to issues. AKBP Arif Iwaran hopes that the reparations can be completed soon and the community can use it again.
