Ahead of the G20 Summit, East Java Figures Inspects Banyuwangi Security Post

The Police Chief, together with the East Java Regional Leadership Coordination Forum carried out an inspection at ports and airports in Banyuwangi, to support the smooth running of the G20 Summit in Bali. A number of locations were reviewed, including the Ketapang River, Lake, and Ferry Transportation Port (ASDP), Blimbingsari local Port and Blimbingsari International Airport, Banyuwangi, East Java.

East Java Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto, in his inspection was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the East Java Police, Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo and the Main Officer of the East Java Regional Police, as well as the Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elistianto Dardak. They reviewed a number of places that would be used for contingency in the G20 Summit.

East Java Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto explained that the Forkopimda ranks from East Java Province, along with Regional Leadership Coordination Forum Banyuwangi Regency are reviewing the preparation of the ASDP port in Banyuwangi. In addition, they also want to re-assures the security operations to provide counterbalance activities in Bali in the G20 activities.

"There are several public port points that are also part of security forces concern. This is also part of our security operation focus that will be carried out in the Banyuwangi area, "explained the Police Chief while checking at the ASDP Ketapang Banyuwangi Port, as reported by aroundperak.com, Monday (7/11/22).

The Police Chief said that 143 personnel were prepared to be dispatched, and there are 359 joint personnel that were also prepared to secure this operation. In addition, later there will be personnel who will be deployed at vital points for crossings to Bali.
