A total of 148,211 Joint Personnel were Deployed to Secure the 2023 Ketupat Operation

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 148,211 joint personnel were deployed to secure the 2023 Eid Al-Fitr Ketupat Operation. The thousands of personnel did not only come from the Indonesian National Police, but also from the Military, ministries or agencies, regional governments, and related elements.

In detail, 1,240 personnel from the INP, 91,153 personnel from the Regional Police, and 55,818 personnel from related agencies.

"We are doing it together, so that this operation runs safely, smoothly, and in an orderly manner. By the tagline 'Safe and Memorable Homecoming,' said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, Saturday (4/1/2023).

Sandi Nugroho said, based on government estimates, around 123.8 million people would celebrate Eid 2023 in his hometown. This number increased by 14.2 percent compared to 2022 or as many as 85.5 million people.

According to Sandi, the increase in the number of travelers was due to the absence of PPKM this year, the decreased number of Covid-19 cases, the promotion of public holidays and positive public perceptions, and improving economic conditions.

"Thank God, our economy can recover and the people can stay in touch with their relatives in their hometown," said Sandi Nugroho.

To secure hundreds of millions of travelers, Sandi said that his party had provided security posts and services.

For the Trans Java Toll Road, the Banten Regional Police will prepare 16 security posts and 4 service posts, while for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, there are 76 security posts and 16 service posts. The West Java Regional Police prepared 227 security posts and 53 service posts, for the Central Java Regional Police there were 167 security posts and 55 service posts, while the Yogyakarta Regional Police had 16 security posts and 6 service posts and the East Java Regional Police prepared 160 security posts and 57 service posts.

Meanwhile, for the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, each Regional Police will also prepare security posts and service posts. "For the number of security posts on the Trans Sumatra toll road, there are 247 posts and 134 service posts," Sandi explained.

He added, 123.8 million travelers mostly came from East Java 21.2 million people, Central Java 18.7 million people, Jabodetabek (Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi) 18.3 million people, West Java there were 14 .9 million people and North Sumatra 4.4 million people. Whereas for the 5 most frequent homecoming destinations, Central Java was 32.75 million people, East Java 24.6 million people, Jabodetabek 8.07 million people, West Java 14.9 million people, and Yogyakarta 5.9 million people.

According to him, hundreds of millions of travelers will use many modes of transportation, namely private vehicles, motorbikes, buses, trains, and rental cars. In addition, many also use public transportation such as buses, trains, ferries, airplanes, and ships.

"We hope that people who are going homecoming will prepare everything, especially their physical health and also the health of their vehicles. So safely arrived at hometown, "concluded Sandi.
