Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, said that Indonesia would always stand firm in solidarity to support Palestinian independence and said that the Palestinian people had suffered for too long and had longed for peace.

"Until Palestine can truly become an independent State, Indonesia would stand firm in solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” said the Indonesian Foreign Minister at the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York, Monday (9/26).

The Indonesian Foreign Minister explained that a peaceful solution was the only option to resolve the conflict. She encourages dialogue and cooperation to foster strategic trust. " These are the rules of the game that we must maintain if we truly want peace," she explained.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister said Indonesian President Joko Widodo had brought a new paradigm of peace when he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow in June 2022.

According to her, efforts to realize peace with this new paradigm must also be applied to make breakthroughs in Palestine and Afghanistan.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister said that people in Afghanistan have the right to a peaceful and prosperous life. He emphasized that the rights of all people, including women, are equally respected and that access to education for women and girls is given. " Without this new paradigm, peace would remain an elusive dream.," she explained.

Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid suggest a two-state solution in resolving the conflict with Palestine at the 77th UN Assembly in New York, Thursday (22/9/22).

Quoted from The Diplomat, Indonesia is one of the countries that does not recognize Israel's independence due to Tel Aviv's occupation of the Palestinian territories.

In the opening of the 1945 Constitution, the Republic of Indonesia also emphasized that in fact independence is the right of all nations and therefore, colonialism in the world must be abolished, because it is not in accordance with humanity and justice.

Quoting Britannica, the two-state solution is a framework for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Within this framework, the two countries recognize each other's independence.

The State of Israel will protect the Jewish population, while the State of Palestine will protect the Palestinians.
