National Narcotics Agency in their cooperation with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise have successfully revealed seven cases of illegal drugs smuggling and a case of clandestine laboratory for the past three months. From that disclosure, they managed to arrest 30 suspects and several drug evidence consists of methamphetamine, marijuana, to ecstasy pills. The total weight of those drugs reached hundreds of kilograms.
"The evidence that we seized consisted of 354.63 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 197.41 kilograms of marijuana, 105,630 pills, and 451 grams of ecstasy," explained the Head of the National Narcotics Agency, Commissioner General Petrus Richard Golose quoted from pmjnews.com, Monday (11/7).
According to the Head of the National Narcotics Agency, the evidence of hundreds of kilograms of various types of drugs was obtained from eight different narcotics trafficking cases, which consists of seven international drug network cases and one provincial cannabis shipment.
He continued that the 30 suspects were arrested by the joint forces in different locations. The arrest is part of an operation that has been carried out since September to November 2022.
“The recovery from Covid-19 Pandemic resulted a mass illegal smuggling of drugs, especially when recreational place has resumed their operation, which raised the demands for those illicit goods,” said the Head of National Narcotics Agency.
