The personnel of the Banjarmasin Police raids several cafes and billiards in their city and managed to confiscated hundreds of various liquors.
The Banjarmasin Police Chief said that this activity was carried out as an effort to supervise and control the sale of liquor in Banjarmasin.
The alcoholic beverages were secured due to the billiards and cafes not having or cannot show a license to sell it.
“If they are no monitored, we feared that it will cause disturbance in the community that could breeds various criminal action in the society,” said Banjarmasin Police Chief.
This raid is an effort to minimize the potential for security and social security disturbances due to recent high number of brawls and criminal actions that often caused by liquors.
He also stated that this kind of activity would be carried out continuously.
"If such actions are found, he will ensure that his party will confiscate the alcohol and give sanctions to the violators," said the Banjarmasin Police Chief, Commissioner Sabana Atmojo Martosumito.
He adds that this continuous operation will not only targets liquor sell, but also other issue such as gambling, drugs, illegal racing, fuel and LPG abuse, and extortion that disturbs the general community.
"Hopefully all of our efforts can create conducive conditions and help maintain public safety and security," he explained.
