Personnel of Drugs Investigation Unit of Medan Police successfully secured a white car that carried a ton of marijuana at Simpang Pos, Medan City, Monday (12/12) night. The car was drove by a man named Mawardi (23), whose also been secured by the police.
The Head of Medan City Police, Commissioner Valentino Alfa Tatared, revealed that the arrest begins with the report from the community and part of their monitoring since a month ago. They have already suspected that the suspects form Blang Kejeren Aceh have been transporting dried marijuana to Jakarta.
“After we got the report from the people, we immediately ordered the Drugs Investigation Unit of Medan Police to go to the location and intercept the car at Jamin Ginting Medan street, precisely under the Simpang Pos Medan Flyover,” said Medang Police Chief.
According to the examination on the suspect, Mawardi is only the courier. The examination is still ongoing to further develop the case and the suspect, along with the evidence, is now been secured at Medan Police HQ.
