In investigating the causes of the fire in the Mardika area, Rijali Village, Ambon City, Friday (12/9), the Maluku Regional Police brought in a Laboratory Forensic team from Makassar.
"We will bring Laboratory Forensic from Makassar to investigate and ascertain the cause of the fire," said the Head of Public Relations of Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner M. Roem Ohoirat, quoted by Kompas.com, Friday (12/9).
At the location of the fire, a police line has been installed and residents are prohibited from passing through the line.
He explained that the Head of the Maluku Regional Police, Inspector General H. Lotharia Latif, has ordered the Ambon Island Police Chief to secure the location of the fire, and conduct an investigation regarding the cause of the fire incident.
"Police Chief has ordered to investigate the cause of the fire, including bringing in the Laboratory Forensic team from Makassar," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police.
It is known that the fire incident caused hundreds of buildings, including houses and kiosks owned by residents, to be burnt. In addition, two people were dead and another suffered serious burns.
