The West Kalimantan Police Successfully Revealed the Case of Fuel Abuse and Illegal Gold Mining

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pontianak. The West Kalimantan Regional Police managed to secure the two suspects of illegal gold mining and the subsidized fuel oil abuse.

"The two suspects, includes the gas station manager, M, and the one who fill the fuel to the container, A. They were both arrested after developing the previous illegal mining case that we have carried out," explained the Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Police, Commissioner Raden Petit Wijaya in Pontianak City, Monday (08/08/22).

Police Commissioner Raden Petit Wijaya explained that from January to July 2022, the West Kalimantan Regional Police had processed 23 cases in 10 crime scenes involving mining sites in forests, rivers, land. Authorities also arrested up to 75 suspects, including miners, collectors, and financiers.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Police said that from January to July 2022, the West Kalimantan Police handled 23 cases at 10 crime scenes (TKP) with mining locations in forests, rivers, land, as well as shelters and processing. The authorities also arrested as many as 75 suspects consisting of mining workers, collectors, processors and financiers.

"As for the 20 cases of subsidized fuel abuse we have managed to arrest 25 suspects with evidence of 55,180 liters of subsidized diesel. Then we also confiscated evidence of a motor boat, five trucks, and 20 units of various types of vehicles. State losses due to the case reached Rp9.8 billion," said the West Kalimantan Regional Police Intermediate Officer.
