The Yahukimo Police arrested seven people suspected of being the perpetrators of the shooting down of the Trigana Air PK YSC B 373-500 plane at Nop Goliat Dekai Airport. The seven people were secured with evidence of three motorbikes, a Black Vario, Black Beat, and Black Red Supra X, one arrow, one knife, one sickle, one bow, and one bayonet.
"We have secured 7 people and some evidence for further investigation and looking for evidence of firearms used to carry out the shooting," said Chief of Public Relation Department of the Papua Regional Police, Police Senior Superintendent Benny Adi, Sunday (3/12/23).
Benny Ali explained that the arrest was successfully carried out after the joint investigators conducted another inspection around Nop Goliat Dekai Airport.
According to Benny, the current situation is under control. However, the joint team continues to increase security around Dekai.
"Currently the joint team of the Indonesian National Armed Forces - Indonesian National Police are conducting patrols around the Dekai City area to anticipate security disturbances," explained the Head of Public Relations.
