Mitra Anugerah Ship’s Blast Killed Two After Suffering Major Burn Injury

Due to the explosion of Mitra Anugerah Ship in it’s machine room, two people died with a major burn injury at Bojonegara, Serang Regency.

The incident happened around 10:45 WIB at Jeti Slip Way B, belonging to PT Samudera Marine Indonesia (SMI). The two victims are JM (54) and AS (32).

“Previously, the two are in the middle of repairing cooling pipes using grinder and wrench, and then there was an explosion from the engine room, causing the two worker suffered major burn injury and died from it,” said Head Sub-directorate of Water and Air Police Law Enforcement of Banten Police, AKBP Iwan Muri, quoted from Detik.com, Monday (12/12).

He says that two other worker also suffered burn injury due to the blast, they are MF (25) and AO (32). They have been sent to Krakatau Medika Cilegon Hospital and now are being treated there.

Currently, the investigator are still investigating any criminal actions in those blast that caused two people died. The investigation began by investigating the criminal location comprehensively with teams from Forensic Laboratory, examining witnesses, and requesting post-mortem from the hospitals.
