Water and Air Police of North Sumatra Arrest Three Pirates who Robbed Fishermen

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan.   The Sub-directorate of Law Enforcement of the Water and Air Police Directorate of the North Sumatra Police arrested three pirates with the initials of SA, MWS and S who robbed fishing boats in the waters of Pantai Labu Sub-district, Deliserdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi said the sea robbers were arrested after they received reports from fishermen. They robbed a fishing boat on October 15 and then around 08:00 WIB by raiding the fishing boat.

"This is the North Sumatra Police's commitment to provide a sense of security and comfort on the coast, beaches, and others within the jurisdiction of the North Sumatra Police," he explained, quoted from matatelinga.com, Friday (21/10/22).

During this arrest, the police managed to secure evidence of 100 liters of diesel fuel, fiber ice boxes, four plastic jerry cans, and Rp300,000 cash from the sale of wet fish which was robbed from the fishermen.

In their robbery, the pirates pointed air softguns at the fishermen to hand over their valuables including fish, ship GPS, and diesel oil. The police is still investigating where they got their weapons.

The police explained that two of the three suspects were still being chased. The two sea bandits managed to escape during the arrest.
