Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Sulsel. The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Sulawesi Police has named the owner of SLV travel, Selvi Firdaus Ahmad, a suspect. She was suspected of committing fraud and the police asked the travel boss to turn himself in immediately.
"We have held an open case has been carried out and named Selvi is a suspect," said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Sulawesi Police, Commissioner Helmi Kwarta Kusuma Putra Rauf, Wednesday (10/19).
He said the determination of the suspect was based on the results of the examination of witnesses. Witnesses stated that they felt cheated after handing over some money to the travel but still not being able to go abroad. Therefore, the police suspects there are hundreds others of victims that have been cheated by this travel agency.
"Regarding the loss, we still can’t conclude it because the victims are not only from South Sulawesi but also from outside South Sulawesi," said Commissioner Helmi Kwarta Kusuma, quoted from Kumparan.
Apart from Selvi, the police also named several people as suspects. They are also responsible for fraud, especially through social media. However, Helmi did not reveal the identity of the other suspects, fearing that they would went abroad.
"There are more than one suspect. If we mention their names now, I’m afraid they will run away immediately. Everything related to this fraud, were done according to their respective roles. So, all of them can be identified as suspects," he explained.
Currently, the police are asking Selvi to immediately surrender before being picked up by officers.
"Before we initiate to arrest Selvi, we would like to give her a chance to surrender herself," he said.
Previously, a photo of a woman was shown on a billboard in Makassar City, South Sulawesi. The woman is said to have cheated a lot of people through her travel agency. This large billboard is in front of the Makassar Penitentiary, Sultan Alauddin Street , Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The photo followed by a word written “Please give our money back...!!’. From the people you cheated...!!”.
Later it was found that the woman is Selvi Ahmad Firdaus. She is the travel boss of PT SLV Modern Travelindo or SLV Travel. This Travel is based on Tun Abdul Razak street, Citraland Ruko, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi.
