Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) confiscated many homemade firearms dan sharp weapons and arrested suspects during a raid of a terrorist group Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) in Mesuji, Lampung from Tuesday (11/4/23) to Wednesday (12/4/23).
“We have the evidence of an M16 firearm and sharp weapons,” said the Head of the Public Affairs Bureau of Indonesian National Police (INP) Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in a press conference on Thursday (13/4/23).
Police Senior Superintendent Aswin Siregar, the Densus 88 Spokesperson, said that one of the suspects identified with the initials BA had died during the raid. Based on the police investigation, BA was one of the leaders in the JI who played a significant role in hiding wanted persons.
The other suspects are ZK, whose role was to hide the firearms the group possessed, and H, a wanted person in the Poso conflict.
“There are also AI and AM who set up the amaliah,” said the spokesperson, referring to the group’s finance.
