INP Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Criminal Investigation Agency has named six individuals on suspicion of committing offenses related to obscenity and international network pornography. The suspects carried out their crimes through the use of applications and live streaming sites.
The suspects, identified as IPS (27), AAP (25), R (30), J alias Koh Asan (29), R (28), and NS alias Risma (22), are accused of participating in obscene activities through websites controlled by Philippines and Cambodia foreign nationals.
The director of the directorate, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, stated that during the live streaming sessions, the suspects acted as hosts and requested viewers to deposit or transfer funds. In return, they displayed obscene contents.
“After a deeper investigation, besides broadcasting obscene contents, this site and application also contained online gambling with various types of games, such as sic bo, baccarat, slots, and others,” he said at the INP Headquarters on Friday (2/3/23).
Based on the investigation, police found a money laundering crime by diverting the proceeds from the broadcasting of obscene content and online gambling. Police has frozen 30 accounts that were suspected to be the source of money circulation of trillions rupiah.
