Chief of Jambi Regional Police Leads the Destruction of 80 Kg of Dried Cannabis Evidence

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Merangin. Located in the Green Field of the Merangin Departemental Police Headquarters, the Chief of Jambi Regional Police, Police Inspector General Albertus Rachmad Wibowo, directly led the destruction of 80 kg of dried marijuana, Friday (11/26/2021).

Appearing to be present accompanying the Chief of Regional Police in the destruction of evidence, the Chief of Merangin Departemental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Irwan Andi Purnamawan and including the Merangin Regency Regional Leadership Communication Forum and other guests.

In his statement, the Head of Public Relations Division of the Jambi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Mulia Prianto, said that this evidence was destroyed by burning it in an iron drum. As a result, a small portion of the dried marijuana evidence is set aside for court proceedings and examination by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control.

"To note, the Merangin Departemental Police succeeded in thwarting the delivery of marijuana type narcotics on the Sumatra Cross Road, Mentawak Village, Nalo Tantan District, Merangin Regency, last Tuesday (16/11/21). The discovery of marijuana originated from a public report to the Merangin Departemental Police Narcotics Unit personnel that in the grass on the edge of the Sumatran highway, Mentawak Village, there were four sacks whose owners did not know. So people do not dare to open the sacks and contact the Merangin Departemental Police Narcotics Unit personnel, "added the Head of Public Relations Division of the Jambi Police.

"Following up on this, the Merangin Departemental Police Narcotics Unit personnel moved to the location where the sacks were found. When the police arrived at the location witnessed by the Head of Mentawak Village, Mr Abu Bakar or Acang and several other residents, the sacks were opened, and packets of marijuana were found. Totalling 80 packages weighing approximately 80 kilograms," said the Head of Public Relations Division of the Jambi Regional Police.
