West Kalimantan Regional Police Name Nine Suspects on the Arson and Destruction of Ahmadiyya Mosque

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pontianak. West Kalimantan Regional Police successfully named nine suspects of the arson and destruction of Ahmadiyya mosque case in Tempunak, Sintang.

Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Donny Charles Go, said that West Kalimantan Regional Police had named nine suspects on Monday (6/9/2021).

Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police said that those nine people have a common role in destroying Ahmadiyya mosque. They are now also detained.

"The role is conducting destruction together. Yes, (the nine suspects are) detained", Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police.

Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police stated that there are another two people being detained by the Police in this incident. Therefore, Police has arrested 12 people. Three of them are witnesses.

"In the night, there are two more people, so we have detained 12 people. Only nine are suspects. The others are witnesses", Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police said.

"It is possible to expand. Our investigation is still in process", Chief of PR and Press Agency of West Kalimantan Regional Police said.

Previously, Police arrested the perpetrator of the destruction of Ahmadiyya mosque in Sintang, West Kalimantan. There are ten people that are being detained.

This case was started when hundreds of people destroyed the Ahmadiyya mosque in Sintang, West Kalimantan. The situation could be defused after hundreds of Police personnel went on the ground. Besides destroying the mosque, people also burn a building around the mosque.
