Post Flash Flood in Mendoyo, Bali Police Inspects the Feasibility of Biluk Poh Bridge

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jembrana. Bali Police Chief, Inspector General Putu Jayaan Danu Putra, went to Biluk Poh Kangin, Tegal Cangkring Village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana, on Monday (17/10/22) afternoon where it was hit with a flash flood.

The visit of the Bali Police Chief was to saw firsthand the feasibility of the Biluk Poh bridge that connects the Gilimanuk-Denpasar route, as well as monitoring the debris cleaning due to flood in the affected surrounding conditions.

The Bali Police Chief appealed to the public to be patient waiting for the results of Biluk Poh bridge whether it still good to be used or not. This effort is not to cause more victims.

"If you look at the impact of the large logs, it will definitely change the structure under the bridge. For that, we ask for understanding from the community for those who want to cross this bridge to find other alternative roads," said the Bali Police Chief accompanied by the Jembrana Police Chief.

The Bali Police Chief is aware that the Gilimanuk-Denpasar route is the main road of many goods transport vehicles.

"So you won’t be stuck in here for too long, you can cross an alternative route in Singaraja which is from Gilimanuk to Denpasar and vice versa," continued the Bali Police Chief.

For now, small vehicles such as motorcycles are allowed to pass with an open and close system one by one to reduce the load on the bridge so it doesn't collapse. Likewise, residents who pass by on the bridge are reduced.

The Bali Police Chief appealed to people living on riverbanks, slopes or other places that are potentially prone to landslides to stay alert.
