To welcome the 76th Bhayangkara Day, the Papuan Police held a traditional rowing competition at Dok II Beach Jayapura, Monday (27/6/2022). The event was opened directly by the Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, and was accompanied by a main official from the Papua Regional Police.
The Papuan Police Chief said this activity is one of the steps for the Police to get closer to the community.
"Hopefully, activities like this can build better relationship with the community.Previously, we also held social and religious social services," said Papua Police Chief, Monday (27/6/2022).
The Kapolda hopes that this competition will help the rowing athletes be prepared with the upcoming 21st PON in North Sumatra and Aceh.
"During these two days we will be holding a Men and Women Traditional Rowing Competition and I hope that other top Papuan Police officials can also paid attention to the cleanliness of the sea, because Papua is surrounded by oceans and lakes," he said.
The event was also attended by Regional Inspector of Papua Police, Commissioner Alfred Papare as the Deputy Chair of the 76th Bhayangkara Day, along with the Chair of the Jayapura City PODSI Rowing, Joni Naa, and all the competition participants.
